7:30 PM Concert Begins

Faith United Methodist Church
1719 S. Prospect Ave., Champaign

W. A. Mozart Divertimento in D, K. 251 “Nannerl Septet”
Heitor Villa-Lobos Choros No. 7
Camille Saint-Saëns Septet, Op. 65
Ingram Marshall Fog Tropes
Astor Piazzolla “Winter” from Four Seasons in Buenos Aires
Irving Berlin Blue Skies
Clark McAlister Lou’s Mountain Bread

This program presents the orchestra in miniature and in segments—Prairie Ensemble-style, complete with saxophone, bandoneón and electric guitar. Our players move deftly through multiple musical styles: from the classic in Mozart’s septet named for his sister, to the contemporary in Marshall’s work for brass sextet and electronic tape, to the worldly in atmospheric music by Villa-Lobos and Piazzolla, to
classic Americana in McAlister’s pastiche of American folk tunes. It’s the ultimate in our particular brand of musical eclecticism!
