Samuel Barber was one of the great 20th-century American romantics, and he would have been 100 years old in March 2010. We'll celebrate with some of his most beloved music, featuring the wonderful young soprano Desirée Hassler in Knoxville. Martinu's tongue-in-cheek jazz-inspired ballet seems a
fitting opener, and we'll look for any excuse to play one of Mozart's latest, greatest symphonies.
